So back when I started this whole operation almost a YEAR ago, one of my first posts was a story about my best friend Kristen and I going to Kings Dominion. We ate delicious frozen lemonade, I tortured Kristen by forcing her on terrifying roller coasters, we took 200 selfies, and my favorite part, got stuck on a ride that had us hanging in the air a good couple hundred feet. Goooood timesssss. Well, since we're seniors and everything, we had a very well-deserved senior skip day to take advantage of. So off to Kings Dominion we went!
I made the most fitting mix CD for the drive, do people still make CDs? I do... So fitting actually that when we were driving on a very tall, intimidating, somewhat scary but incredibly beautiful bridge, the lyric "I CRASHED MY CAR INTO THE BRIDGE, I DON"T CARE, I LOVE IT!" was blasting. Did I mention Kristen is afraid of bridges? Not even at the amusement park and I already tortured her. Success. This go around, we actually ate breakfast appropriate food. No chicken Caesar wraps and chocolate milk for us. Just the thought, *shudders* no. We got some breakfast sandwiches from our beloved Wawa, fueled up, and soon enough, we were at the park. One of the only people at the park to be exact. Probably only three other cars there? So what did we do? "BOOK IT TO THE VOLCANO NOW!" Yeah, we road the Volcano three times when we first got there; primarily because we wanted a good picture. Afterwards we hopped on and off rides for an hour and a half, hiking around the whole park only to discover that in that short time we had rode every single roller coaster in the entire park. THE ENTIRE PARK. I mean what the heck?! So we rode them all again. And again. ANddd again. We probably road every major thrill roller coaster 5 times. Even the intimidator, which I had to DRAG Kristen on last time. We got used to the rides so much so to the point where they actually became relaxing. All of the walking, standing, ect. Once our feet got off the ground and were sent at 80 mph upside down into the air, we were in bliss. But now I'm making the adventure sound exhausting... It wasn't! I mean, it was, but we had a TON of fun. We took twice as many selfies as last year, tweeted ourselves all day (making #KandCquotes), went on a mission for Dippin' Dots!!! That was delicious and hilarious. ANd we snapchatted really goofy pictures and videos! Essentially we made sure social media KNEW we weren't at school and were having a blast. Obviously.
Some of my favorite moments and quotes of the day: "I feel safer in a volcano"-Kristen, when justifying why she approves of the Volcano and disapproves of the Intimidator. "You can always count on Kings Dominion to brainwash you while you wait in line"-Me, after watching the music video for Rather Be and remembering last year when the video was Riptide. "Sound effects make life more interesting"-Kristen, when making the most absurd noises that were absolutely just weird. "we're going on a trip In Our Favorite Rocket Ship ZOOMING THROUGH the skyy!"-Us, while going to the sun on the huge first hill of the Intimidator. When Kristen lip synced perfectly to "Out the Speakers" in the car when it goes "HI!" And lastly, all of the snapchat videos of Kristen dancing right in the middle of a crowd of people, imitating Debby Ryan's "model face," dancing in the bathroom, and creeping up behind me in the most awkward manner while I looked in the mirror. OH! And that one time when we went on the Log Flume ride, had the most amazing picture, and the picture booth wasn't even open for us. Jerks.
Overall, we had a super successful senior skip day. Ending it with Burger King crowns, chicken fries, and Kristen jamming out 100% to dupstep music for two hours. Where did she find that energy? Oh right, that horrible 5 hour energy shot that she had half of and told me "It's like grape medicine mixed with grape soda!" It was not like grape soda. It was gross. DO not drink those.
Well, till next time guys, the adventures are always rolling with us two.
