Spectacular. Inspiring. Whimsical. Surprising.
"The Lights in the Shadow" 2017 New York fashion show served as a political statement and capsule of emotion for South Korean protesting women and the US women's march.
"With the FW 2017 runway show, Yuna Yang celebrates women who make their social and political voices heard 'the power of one person holding a candle.' Social and political movements have always expressed their inner light through fashion, whether suffragettes or hippies. YUNA YANG’s F/W17 collection pays homage to people who hold on to hope and belief in shadowed times."
In that moment, sitting in that small comedy club along the forgotten backstreets of New York, we observed beautiful pieces of art created by Yang. Little did I know we were witnessing what the world looks like through Yang's eyes. She sees a light. Even when todays world appears so dark and full of burden, Yang sees the hope and beauty in everything. Her statement is a powerful one, and I am so honored not only to be exclusively invited to attend her show but to also have the opportunity to meet Miss Yuna Yang in person after the show.
Her humbleness and sincerity speaks volumes.
Thank You.
Sincerely, Claire
