The problem with our generation is that we only see two feet ahead of us and we believe that that is enough. In that two feet we have all technology: TV, computer, phone, etc. And those devices seemingly provide all the information we need. Whether it be world news, local news, photos of places all over the world, or people on all social media-we "think" that is enough. Our generation has lost the concept that our brains, our imagination, our soul needs more to see, think, and create. Instead we have this growing capacity for adventure and knowledge and we fill it with an animated glowing screen that we can't let go of. This burns an unhealthy desire to be recognized by people whom we don't even know. We crave a satisfaction from the world of being acknowledged. Unknowingly, we have an addiction to perfection. Our generation is a dependent society of blind people who make themselves vulnerable by living behind technology and feeding into it like a life source. If only we saw a little further. If only we could change our perspective, look up from the screens and attend to being a person who craves excitement rather than safety, who breathes in air from the wild, who discovers life and the world in such a way our rebellious outspoken ancestors did. If only our generation would stop relying on those two feet.
